Maine Music Educators Association is a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to:

- Working for the welfare of music educators, to advance music education and to improve instructional opportunities for all
- Developing and promoting policies and standards that mark this profession
- Helping to unify and strengthen the music teaching profession
- Helping to secure and maintain school music programs in Maine
- Speaking with a common voice on matters pertaining to music education before the Maine State Board of Education
